Tajikistan and the Netherlands Organize a Panel Discussion on Water, Economics and Trade in Geneva

DUSHANBE, 07.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, a panel discussion “Water, Economics and Trade: Exploring commitments for the UN 2023 Water Conference” was held at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva.
Organized by the Permanent Missions of Tajikistan and the Netherlands, and facilitated by the WTO, the event offered an opportunity to draw greater attention to the trade, investment and economic aspects of water, as well as provided a platform to present ongoing work and interim conclusions of the Global Commission on the Economics of Water.
Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva reiterated the urgency to scale up efforts in addressing the water challenges, emphasizing the significance of water for safety and economy.
Also, the importance of implementation of the Water Action Decade and acceleration of global action on water issues has been stressed.
