Chinese Delegation Attends High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 02.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On 30–31 May, a Chinese delegation led by Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairperson of the SCO Committee for Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, visited Tajikistan and took part in the first High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation held in Dushanbe.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan, on 30 May, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Shen Yueyue, who conveyed the warm greetings of Chinese President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Tajikistan under the leadership of both heads of state.
Shen emphasized that China stands ready to jointly implement high-level agreements, promote the building of a China–Tajikistan community with a shared future, and expand cooperation in environmental protection, particularly in glacier preservation and climate governance.

She reiterated China’s dedication to fulfilling its role in global ecological governance and undertaking common but differentiated responsibilities in pursuit of a clean and beautiful world.
In response, President Emomali Rahmon extended his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, confirmed Tajikistan’s active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, and reaffirmed support for the three global initiatives proposed by Chinese President. He expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with China in all areas, including climate change.
During her visit, Shen Yueyue also delivered remarks at the conference, met with Faizali Idizoda, Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives (Lower House of Parliament), and attended the opening ceremony of the China–Tajikistan Health Express Eye Care Center.
