Tajikistan, EU Discusses the Process of Tajikistan’s Entry Into the GSP+

DUSHANBE, 24.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Accelerating the process of Tajikistan’s entry into the European Union Generalized System of Preferences (GSP+) was considered by the leadership of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan and the Managing Director for Russia, the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and the OSCE of the European External Action Service Luc Devigne in Dushanbe.
It was emphasized that the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon paid a special attention to strengthening of cooperation with the European Union.
During the meeting the two sides discussed the issue of attracting more funds to the national economy, the implementation of the Multi-Annual Indicative Programme – EU Tajikistan 2021-2027. Within the framework of this program, priority should be given to the sectors of the «green» economy, artificial intelligence and electronic commerce.
The parties expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
