Magazine “Overview of the State of Drug Control in Tajikistan for 2022” Presented in Vienna

DUSHANBE, 16.03.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On the sidelines of the 66th session of the UN Commission on Drug Narcotic Drugs, the Tajik delegation held a side event with the participation of leaders and delegations of UN member states, authoritative international organizations, representatives of civil society and other participants of the session.
The side event was co-chaired by the Regional Representative of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime Ms. Ashita Mitall.
Director of the Drug Control Agency Habibullo Vohidzoda presented to the audience the magazine “Overview of the state of drug control in Tajikistan for 2022,” which is prepared and published annually.
The main attention of the participants was directed to the measures taken by the government of Tajikistan in the direction of drug control, the main trends in the drug situation in the country and the region, as well as the activities of the relevant ministries and departments to combat drug trafficking and organized crime groups, to control drug trafficking and prevent drug addiction, strengthen control at the state border, conduct joint anti-drug operations with law enforcement agencies of other states, implement programs and projects to combat drugs and international cooperation.
The magazine as an information and analytical material contributes to the presentation of the anti-drug policy of the government of Tajikistan, the results of the implementation of state programs, strategies and international projects on the international arena.
The presentation of the magazine will help attract the attention of the world’s states to solving problems related to drugs in Tajikistan.
The event was attended by the Director of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors (CARICC) and the President of CATCA, who discussed issues of combating illicit drug trafficking and expressed their readiness to develop fruitful cooperation.
