DUSHANBE, 30.03.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, commissioned a drinking water line for 18 thousand residents of the city of Istiklol.

Drinking water is self-flowing and flows through a pipe with a diameter of 325 millimeters from a distance of 7.2 kilometers. This facility was built in the process of preparations to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan in the city of Istiklol.

It was reported that the drinking water line project is being implemented by the State Unitary Enterprise «Housing and Communal Services» of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with development partners. Drinking water is transported by the main pipe in the amount of 110 cubic meters of water per hour to the reservoir «Oftobak» of the city.

There are two ponds with a capacity of 2000 cubic meters of water in this reservoir. Construction work on this facility began in March 2021, and more than 50 local specialists were involved for its timely completion.

It should be noted that earlier the residents of the city of Istiklol, which is more than 18 thousand, suffered from a lack of drinking water, and now, in the light of the humanitarian policy of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon and the implementation of this project, the residents have been fully provided with drinking water.

As part of the implementation of the project to supply the population with drinking water, a drinking water line has been laid for a total distance of 11.2 kilometers near the streets, inside residential buildings, educational, healthcare, sports and service facilities in the territory of the city of Istiklol.

It is worth mentioning that the unique initiative of the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, was implemented within the framework of programs for the implementation of the International Decade of Action «Water for Sustainable Development», 2018-2028, in order to improve the level and quality of life of more than 18 thousand residents of the city of Istiklol.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, tasked the officials of the sector to take immediate measures to improve the level of water supply to the population, and in this regard, to carry out explanatory work on the efficient use of water among the residents.
