DUSHANBE, 19.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, at the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Joint Tajik-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Marat Khusnullin.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Leader of the Nation, emphasizing the importance of the coordinated and effective work of this Commission, wished Marat Khusnullin success in his future activities as a co-chair of this important mechanism for promoting relations between the parties.
During the talks, the current state and prospects of relations of strategic partnership and alliance between Tajikistan and Russia were considered.
The head of our state noted that the issues of strengthening multifaceted cooperation with the Russian Federation occupy a special place in the foreign policy of our country and the Tajik side pays constant attention to the entire range of ties between the two countries.
In this context, the need to continue the efforts of the parties aimed at the full implementation of the previously reached agreements on expanding the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian aspects of cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.
During the conversation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Tajik-Russian relations in various areas of the economy and trade, especially in the areas of industry, including light and food industries, as well as energy, agro-industrial complex, cooperation between regions and tourism.
The implementation of investment projects in the real sector of the Tajik economy was regarded as a promising direction in bilateral relations.
Due attention was paid to the issues of migration interaction, in particular, strengthening the legal and social protection of labor migrants, as well as preserving and expanding the common spiritual and cultural space of the peoples of the two countries.
Along with this, the Leader of the Nation, highly appreciating the current level of ties in the humanitarian sectors, noted the importance of ensuring the further development of practical cooperation between the parties in the fields of science, education and culture as topical issues on the bilateral agenda.
During the conversation, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
