World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Bassani Visited Rogun HPP

DUSHANBE, 05.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, as part of her visit to Tajikistan, the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Antonella Bassani visited the Rogun hydropower plant (HPP).
During the visit, a conversation and meeting was held on the progress of work and the grandeur of this important hydropower project of strategic and economic importance.
The World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central closely reviewed the progress of work at the main facilities of the hydropower plant, including the construction tunnel of the fourth floor, the dam, exits to construction tunnels 3 and 4, the permanent water intake area located at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, the turbine hall and others.
Bassani praised the quality of work and the determination of the builders of the HPP.
It was informed that at present, the main works at the Rogun HPP are systematically continuing, which are under the constant attention of the President Emomali Rahmon. The assembly and installation of important hydropower equipment, the progress of site preparation units, transformer buildings and other construction points is carried out according to the work schedule.
It was emphasized that at the dam of the Rogun HPP, in a characteristic style, work is being carried out on filling stones and gravel, including strengthening, and at the next stage, professional specialists will perform other work to strengthen the construction site.
