Affected Residents of Ayni District Receive Food Assistance

DUSHANBE, 07.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – According to the Office of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense in the Sughd region, on August 4, in the territory of the Langar village of the Urmetan rural community of Ayni district, in order to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster to provide assistance to affected families, as well as to clean water pipes, streets and roads from dirt and rubble, the executive body of the district mobilized 120 villagers and 6 units of engineering equipment.
As a result of the collective work, 2 residential buildings, 12 auxiliary structures, 2 kilometers of roads, 400 meters of debris flow and 800 meters of trays for irrigating household plots were cleared of mud mass.
The Department of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption in the Zarafshon Valley provided food assistance to families affected by the natural disaster, including 1000 kg of flour, 60 kg of pasta, 100 liters of vegetable oil, 40 kg of sugar, 200 kg of rice, 40 kg of tea.
Work to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster continues.
It should be noted that on July 28, a mudflow hit the territory of the Urmetan village, which damaged the gardens and crops of the population, streets, roads and some residential buildings.
