Tajikistan and Iran Need to Intensify Bilateral Agreements to Achieve High Goals

DUSHANBE, 10.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – “In order to achieve high goals that meet the interests of the peoples of Tajikistan and Iran, greater activation of bilateral agreements, comprehensive implementation of documents on cooperation and multi-level agreements of the parties was recognized as an important condition,” said the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on November 8 at a press conference following talks with the President of Iran Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi.
According to him, today it is necessary to further strengthen the legal framework for cooperation and adapt it to today’s realities.
It should be noted that on the sidelines of the talks, a new package of documents on bilateral cooperation at the regional level was signed in the fields of transport, science and culture, sports, information and technology, strengthening the legal foundations of relations between the two countries.
The Tajik side regards the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations and the effective activities of friendship groups of these institutions as one of the important factors of development in this area.
Along with this, it was emphasized the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation and in the further expansion of relations between the two countries.
It was also expressed hope that the next meeting of the Commission, which is expected to be held in Dushanbe before the end of this year, will make a significant contribution to the active consideration of issues of cooperation.
