Tajikistan and UNICEF Discuss Joint Activities

DUSHANBE, 09.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Jonibek Hikmat met with the new Director of the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Special Coordinator for Refugees and Migrants in Europe Regina De Dominicis.
The meeting focused on current issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNICEF, social protection and legal reform of children carried out by the Government of Tajikistan.
It was especially emphasized the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amendments to the Law of Tajikistan “On the Protection of the Rights of the Child.”
The parties also exchanged views on holding joint events within the framework of the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” (June 10-13, 2024, Dushanbe).
