Number of Cars Increases in Tajikistan in Recent Years
DUSHANBE, 16.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The number of cars has increased significantly in Tajikistan in recent years, reports the Ministry of Transport.
As of March 1, 2024, 666,074 vehicles – cars, trucks, and passengers – were officially registered in Tajikistan. A year ago the figures were 601,136.
“Currently, 562,000 cars are registered with the traffic police. As of March 1, 2023, 51,781 trucks, 16,491 passenger cars, 524,045 passenger vehicles, as well as 4,419 trailers and semi-trailers were registered in the country,” the ministry adds.
It should be noted that the import into the country of vehicles manufactured before 2013 is prohibited in accordance with the Governmental Decree dated August 2, 2023.
