Heads of Science and Technology Ministries and Departments of SCO member states holds meeting

DUSHANBE, 21.06.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. The eighth Meeting of Heads of Ministries and Departments of Science and Technology of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states was held in the format of videoconference.
The SCO Deputy Secretary General D. Kane addressed the participants of the Meeting with a welcoming speech, emphasizing that one of the most promising areas of scientific and technical cooperation between the SCO member states is cooperation in the field of application of artificial intelligence capabilities.
The participants of the event noted the importance of joint scientific and technical research and approved the schedule for the preparation of a pilot selection, developed within the framework of the Mechanism for the implementation of joint multilateral research and innovation projects in the SCO space.
The next Meeting of Heads of Ministries and Departments of Science and Technology will be held in 2025 in the People’s Republic of China.
Meetings of heads of ministries and departments of science and technology of the SCO member states have been held since 2010 and play the role of an effective platform for strengthening scientific and technological cooperation, and also help to build mutually beneficial ties between the SCO member states in the field of science and technology.
