Danger of mudflows remains in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 20.08.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan citing the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the country reports that in the next 24 hours on the territory of a number of mountainous areas of republican subordination, Sughd region and in the west of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region will remain the risk of glacial mudflows.
Residents and guests of the country are advised to be careful during these days near water bodies and during mountain hikes.
The Committee urges the population to be careful when traveling through passes and mountain roads.
