The volume of gross agricultural output increased by 9.6% in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 07.08.2024 /NIAT «Khovar»/. The volume of gross agricultural output in all categories of farms in January-June 2024 amounted to 21472.0 million TJS, compared to the same period of 2023, it increased by 9.6%. Including the volume of crop production amounted to 14802.1 million TJS, up by 10.9%, and livestock production 6669.9 million TJS, or 6.7% more. It was said at a press conference by the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmakhmadzoda.
According to the source, in January-June 2024 in all categories of farms of the republic produced 685340 tons of cereals, 267111 tons of potatoes, 1265250 tons of vegetables, 412965 tons of melons, 224826 tons of fruits, 2705 tons of grapes and 453059 tons of fodder, which is more compared to the same period of 2023. The production of potatoes by 2.1%, vegetables by 11.4%, melons by 38.0%, fruits by 21.3%, grapes by 15.4% and fodder by 3.6% more and cereals by 2.8% less (wheat by 4.6%).
