Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon participated in ceremony for commissioning of drinking water in Nurobod district

DUSHANBE, 11.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 11, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, commissioned in Darband town of Nurobod district the drinking water line «Sholidara-Darband».
The main dam of pure cold water, which originates from glaciers, is located in Sholidara area and is 14 kilometers and 420 meters away from the center of Nurobod district. From this distance to the town of Darband, drinking water was brought by a pipe with a diameter of 273 mm. It enters the central reservoir, which has a capacity of 4000 cubic meters. Through the reservoir, 3,500 inhabitants of Darband town and other vital facilities are provided with clean drinking water.
Construction work on this facility started in September 2018 and was completed on time and with high quality. 30 local residents were employed to complete the construction works on time and within the stipulated period.
The Head of State was informed that due to the increase in population in Darband town, the demand for clean drinking water was high, and because of this, restrictions were imposed. Now, with the use of the «Sholidara-Darband» drinking water line, the residents of the town have been provided with clean drinking water 24 hours a day.
This action was implemented on the basis of the instructions and orders of the President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in order to improve the level and quality of life of the population of the district and remote villages of the country.
The Head of State tasked the officials of the sector to strengthen the explanatory work related to the high culture of water use among the residents.
Providing clean drinking water to the residents and solving the problems in this area is a continuation of the implementation of worthy initiatives of the top leadership of the state, and it is being implemented step by step.
Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, assessed the opening of this drinking water network as the next caring activity of the country’s Government.
