President Emomali Rahmon inspected progress at Rogun HPP’ tunnel of turbine units No. 3 and 4

DUSHANBE, 27.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 27, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, inspected the progress of work on the installation of water pipes in the turbine tunnel on section No. 4 of the Rogun HPP.

In the turbine tunnel on the territory of the unit, the work on laying the passage, reinforcement and cementing has been completed.

The length of the horizontal section of the turbine tunnel on the section of unit No. 4 is 48 meters, and the vertical height of the shaft is 206 meters.

The Head of State was informed that to date 64 meters of reinforced concrete have been installed in the tunnel, which is 517.4 tons.

This tunnel serves as a conductor for water supply from the vertical shaft of the line 1,152 meters of the main water intake to unit No. 4. The tunnel has a diameter of 7 and a length of 459 meters.

Installation of iron-metal water pipes in the turbine tunnel of units No. 3 and No. 4 is carried out by domestic engineers and workers at a high quality level.

Currently, in turbine tunnel No. 3, part of the reinforced concrete is ready for installation, the length is 16 meters, and the total weight is 141 tons.

It should be noted that the Rogun HPP is of strategic importance for the Republic of Tajikistan, makes a great contribution to the development of the national economy, improving the standard and quality of life of the population.

During familiarization with the construction work in this tunnel, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, gave specific instructions to engineers and workers for the timely and high-quality execution of the remaining work.

During the visit to the Rogun HPP, the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, was also accompanied by the Prime Minister of the country, Honorable Kokhir Rasulzoda, and leadership of relevant ministries and agencies.
