Tajikistan, Azerbaijan discuss current state and prospects for the development of relations

DUSHANBE, 30.09.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 27, 2024, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr.Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the political, inter-parliamentary, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In discussing cooperation within international organizations, the parties noted the positive practice of regularly supporting each other’s initiatives, including on water and climate issues in the international arena
The Ministers also emphasized the importance of the preparatory process for the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
