Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda attends 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Pakistan

DUSHANBE, 16.10.2024 /NIAT Khowar/. On October 16, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda participated in the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The meeting discussed issues of further strengthening of multilateral mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, exchanged views on important regional and international issues.
In particular, special attention was paid to raising the level of practical cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda in his speech noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon and SCO heads of member states and observers, the relations have been constantly developing and reached the highest level.
The Republic of Tajikistan has made the development of cooperation within the framework of this Organization a top priority of its foreign policy.
The sides exchanged views on modernizing the organization, its permanent structures, as well as strengthening work with dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and international associations.
Proposals were presented at the meeting, including on expanding cooperation in the areas of terrorism and extremism prevention, drug trafficking, human trafficking, climate change, water resources protection, digital and “green” economy, e-commerce, creation of industrial and agricultural enterprises, increasing exports, transportation and logistics, culture, tourism and other priority areas.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed willingness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and realize the set tasks in the future.
Following the meeting a joint statement was signed.
