DUSHANBE, 12.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 12, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon met in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar of Egypt Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb on the sidelines of the Summit of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon emphasized the contribution of this scientific and educational institution in training thousands of specialists in various fields and promoting the ideas of peace and tolerance.
It was pointed out that the unity of the Muslim Ummah is very important in today’s conditions.
In this context, it was considered important for young people to understand the genuine goals and spirit of Islam, which is tolerance, kindness and humanity.
It was mentioned that currently more than 200 citizens of Tajikistan are studying in different departments of the «Al-Azhar» educational institution.
In this regard, our Head of State emphasized the importance of regulating the education of Tajik students based on the legislation of two friendly and brotherly countries.
It was hoped that scientific and research cooperation between educational and scientific institutions of Tajikistan and «Al-Azhar» institution will expand.
It was suggested that religious workers of Tajikistan should be involved in the training sessions of the Al-Azhar institution for scientific and practical exchange and the study of the idea of tolerance.
During the conversation, there was also a fruitful discussion on other topics of mutual interest.
