President Emomali Rahmon attends the 15th Congress of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 18.12.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 18, the 15th Congress of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan was held in Kokhi Borbad complex under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, with the participation of 1473 delegates from all cities and districts of the country.
After approving the work schedule and agenda of the Congress, a number of issues related to its activities in the past five years and work programs and plans for the next five years were discussed, including preparations for the next elections to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and local assemblies of people’s representatives.
At the beginning of the Congress, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, congratulated the delegates of the Congress and all members of the Party on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of this great political and social institution, and analyzed and discussed the five-year activity of the Party.
With the support of the delegates of the Congress, Honorable Emomali Rahmon was elected Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan. Maliksho Nematzoda was elected First Deputy Chairman, Abdullozoda Umeda Bekmurod and Karimzoda Mirzoqosim – Deputy Chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
Another issue on the agenda of the Congress was the nomination of candidates for deputies to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan from a single republican constituency from among active members of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
In accordance with Article 31, Clause 9 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Elections to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan”, the deputies of the Congress supported the candidacies of 28 people and nominated them to participate in the upcoming elections. The proposed candidates are experienced specialists in various fields, including talented young people with new skills and a new outlook on social processes, as well as a large number of qualified women.
The Congress also approved the new composition of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, and other bodies of party structures.
During the Congress, the Pre-Election Program of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, which includes the most important areas of the country’s economic and social development in 2025-2030, was approved, and the Party’s Central Election Headquarters was established.
