DUSHANBE, 05.12.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 5, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustami Emomali, reviewed the work completed on the improvement and renovation of Ismoili Somoni Avenue of the capital and the road bridge over the Dushanbe River.

It was reported that the renovation work here began in 2020, based on the instructions and guidance of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, and was accomplished with a modern and high-quality design.

It should be noted that this bridge was built before independence, and over time, two of its sides needed repair and renovation.

To ensure stability in the structure, concrete pillars were first built on both sides of the road bridge, and then its top was decorated with wrought iron railings in compliance with national and world architectural elements.

High-quality materials were used in the decoration of the metal structures of this bridge, which contributes to its long-term service.

In order to create greenery and beauty around this bridge, shady trees, flowers and shrubs have been planted, which doubles the attractiveness of this area.

Also, within the framework of this project, high-quality lighting has been installed from Ismoili Somoni Avenue to the intersection of Sino Avenue, a distance of 3 km, using energy-saving lighting equipment.

Especially at night, when crossing this bridge, a beautiful and attractive view is visible, which attracts the attention of every resident and guest of Dushanbe.

During the decoration of the overpass, which consists of 6 sections on both sides of the road, 15 control points were built using iron structures, and iron railings with a modern design and style were installed along a length of 473 meters.

The height of the structural decorations in individual sections ranges from 16 to 21 meters.

The design of this bridge was developed taking into account traffic safety, and the pedestrian paths on both sides of it have also been renovated, which is safe for pedestrians.

100 domestic and foreign specialists worked on the renovation and improvement of this bridge and Ismoili Somoni Avenue.

It is worth noting that over the past 7 years, the construction and rehabilitation of 6 bridges, 2 three-level overpasses have been completed in Dushanbe, and more than 160 kilometers of roads have been built and renovated. Within the framework of the general plan of Dushanbe, a project to build 9 more double-level roads is planned, after their construction and commissioning, the traffic of vehicles will be normalized and the load will be reduced.

During his familiarization visit to the completed works on this bridge, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the taste and skill of the builders and emphasized that the improvement and construction works should be comprehensively developed as part of preparations for a worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
