President Emomali Rahmon accepts credentials of newly-appointed Ambassadors to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 31.01.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On January 31, at the Palace of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received credentials from newly appointed ambassadors of a number of foreign countries.
During the ceremony, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ms. Katherine Ellen Smitton, Japan Ms. Furuta Keiko, the Republic of Korea Jeon Sung Sik, the State of Palestine Adham Muhammad Ali Hasan Zeinuddin, Austria Ms. Andrea Bacher, Italy Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, Canada Christopher Duggan, Australia John William Geering, Algeria Mohamed Irki, Somalia Fathudin Ali Mohamed, Cambodia Sok Chea, and Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Christopher Alberto Martinez Berroteran, presented their Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, with messages and greetings from the leadership of their countries.
In his speech, the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, congratulated the new ambassadors on the beginning of their diplomatic activity in this responsible position in the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was expressed confidence that the ambassadors, with their practical actions and measures, will comprehensively contribute to strengthening relations between their countries and Tajikistan.
“Since the first years of independence, the foreign policy of our state has been aimed at strengthening and expanding friendly relations and beneficial cooperation with international partners,” — emphasized the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon.
It was noted that Tajikistan has established active and constructive relations with a wide range of countries of the world, both bilaterally and within the multilateral framework, in various areas of mutual interest.
Continuing his speech, the President of the country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, reflected on the development and strengthening of friendly relations and multifaceted beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the State of Palestine, Austria, Italy, Canada, Australia, Algeria, Somalia, Cambodia and Venezuela.
The Head of State, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of the newly appointed ambassadors to the current situation in the world and the need to find ways to solve the problems of the global agenda, including issues related to water and climate.
Cooperation within the framework of international organizations, supporting each other’s global initiatives in the international arena, strengthening good understanding and fruitful interstate relations were other topics of conversation.
