DUSHANBE, 15.01.2025 /NIAT Khovar/. On January 15, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honourable Masoud Pezeshkian, arrived on a state visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

As a sign of high respect, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, warmly and sincerely welcomed the distinguished guest — President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honourable Masoud Pezeshkian.

In order to welcome the distinguished guest, the Dushanbe International Airport was festively decorated with the state flags of the two countries, photos of the Heads of State of Tajikistan and Iran, and slogans praising the friendship of the peoples of the two countries.

A red carpet was laid out for the welcome, and officers of the guard of honor lined up on both sides of the corridor.

During a short conversation held in the airport hall, the heads of the two states exchanged views on the program of Masoud Pezeshkian’s first state visit to Tajikistan, expressing confidence that it will open new pages in the history of relations between the two countries, which share the same language and culture.

It is worth noting that the state visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Tajikistan will continue from January 15 to 17, during which high-level meetings and negotiations between Tajikistan and Iran, the signing of a large number of new cooperation documents, and other important events, including trade, investment, scientific and literary activities, are expected.
