DUSHANBE, 11.02.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim held a bilateral meeting with Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Tatiana Molchan at the UN headquarters in Geneva, reports MoT of Tajikistan.
It was noted that Tajikistan has officially joined 9 international conventions and agreements in the field of road transport, including the “Convention on the contract for the international Carriage of Goods by Road”.
During the conversation, the Minister noted that in 2022, the SUE “Center of digitalization of the transport sector” was established under the Ministry, which is designed to introduce digital control systems to regulate the movement of vehicles even in remote regions.
“We ask you to provide us with technical support in the development of “Strategy of transportation, logistics and alternative international routes. Tajikistan is a specific mountainous country bordering countries with their own characteristics and political views. Therefore, alternative routes are always very important for us,” said Azim Ibrohim.
In turn, Tatyana Molchan expressed readiness to further discuss these proposals and develop a joint program of action.
