President Emomali Rahmon attends solemn gathering on the occasion of Mother’s Day

DUSHANBE, 07.03.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part and delivered a speech at a solemn gathering on the occasion of Mother’s Day at the Kokhi Borbad State Complex.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, sincerely congratulated the women of the country on the occasion of Mother’s Day, and assessed the role of the Tajik woman-mother in preserving the achievements of the era of independence and strengthening the foundations of national statehood as great and unique.

The Head of State called the woman-mother a symbol of the beginning of life, an example of beauty and kindness, and the joy and prosperity of human life.

The Leader of the Nation considered the celebration of this holiday with pomp and splendor and with full appreciation to be a sign of the special respect and esteem of the state and the country’s leadership towards mothers and dear women.

During his speech, the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, reflected on the greatness of the mother, the status and position of women in society, and other unique qualities of this goddess of life, and called the role of the Tajik mother in raising educated and talented children, the spiritual development of the family and society, as well as peace and stability, national unity, and the prosperity and progress of the Tajik state very valuable.

It was emphasized that Tajik mothers and women not only sincerely supported the policy pursued by the Head of State in restoring peace, uniting the Tajik people, protecting independence and freedom, and other issues of statehood, but also made great efforts and assistance to realize the goals of the newly independent Tajik state.

In the opinion of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, modern Tajik women and girls are descendants of heroic and patriotic Aryan women and have preserved the freedom, honor, and chastity of their ancestors in new conditions and times.

“A woman who is literate, educated, and skilled, in addition to raising children, actively participates in promoting the goals of the state, the prosperity of the Motherland, and the creative process, and makes a valuable contribution to building a democratic, secular, free, and progressive society,” — said the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

In his speech, the President announced support, care, and constructive measures to improve the status of women in society as among the priority areas of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The honorable work and loyal service of Tajik women and girls in the ranks of the Armed Forces, the construction of the fateful Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant, and their great contribution to the development of legislation, entrepreneurship, trade, and other areas of the country’s economic and social life were especially emphasized.

The Head of State stated that “we always value the role of mothers and women in the development of society, the progress of the state, the prosperity of the Motherland, the creation of a healthy and happy family, the upbringing of righteous children, and the growth of the dignity and respect of every Tajik family, and we always honor their historic services.”

It was noted that the skills, talents, efforts, organizational abilities, and professionalism of mothers are commendable, and they can make an even greater contribution to the implementation of state policy, the progress of society, and the prosperity of our beloved Motherland in the future.

Women were called upon to be active in developing folk crafts and preserving and teaching the next generation how to prepare national dishes.

At the same time, the issue of women’s respect for the culture and tradition of dressing, raising children in a spirit of patriotism, and observing national laws regulating customs and rituals was emphasized.

In this process, preventing the honoring of foreign traditions, including in matters of dress and customs alien to our people, and making even greater efforts to strengthen peace and stability in society, the progress of the state and the prosperity of the Motherland were considered among the important tasks of Tajik women.

Taking into account the situation in the world community and the needs of the time, special attention was paid to issues related to the protection of traditional values of the Tajik family and its stability, the proper upbringing of adolescents and youth and the prevention of lawlessness and crime among them, as well as the study of science and knowledge, professions and crafts, the mastery of foreign languages and information and communication technologies.

After the meaningful speech of the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, a memorable concert program was held in honor of Mother’s Day, which included the glorification of independence and freedom, homeland and patriotism, and the status and position of women and mothers in society.
