On April 30, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Head of the Government of the country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.

First, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management, Sulton Rahimzoda, reported on the draft investment agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Consortium of Investors in the composition of the Limited Liability Company “Center for Industrial Development” on the implementation of the project “Establishment of a textile cluster of a group of companies in the Republic of Tajikistan”.

It was stated that the purpose of the development and adoption of this project is to contribute to the implementation of the strategic goal of rapid industrialization of the country, and it is envisaged to attract investment, create agro-industrial clusters and process cotton fiber into final products within the country.

It was emphasized that the issue of building production capacities, full processing of domestic raw materials and development of the industry, including light industry, as well as ensuring productive employment, which is one of the strategic goals of the country, is included in state programs and national strategies, including the “National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030”.

It was reported that the implementation of this project will provide jobs to more than 5,500 citizens of the country.

After discussion, the draft investment agreement on the implementation of the project “Establishment of a textile cluster of a group of companies in the Republic of Tajikistan” was approved.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the officials to sign the agreement based on the agreements of the parties and submit it for approval to the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The report of the heads of a number of structures was heard on the draft decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code of the Republic of Tajikistan”.

It was emphasized that the draft decree was submitted to find additional sources of revenue for the state budget.

The draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code of the Republic of Tajikistan” was approved and submitted for consideration of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In the continuation of the meeting, relevant decisions were also adopted on a number of important issues, including effective management and control of land use.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon drew the attention of officials of ministries, agencies and executive bodies of state power to the implementation of the instructions voiced at the meeting, previous instructions of the Government of the country, as well as the expansion of improvement and construction, field work, including spring planting and work, and comprehensive preparations for a worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence.
