On April 22, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iskandar Momini.
During the conversation, certain aspects of the bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Iran were discussed, in particular, the state and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of law and order and security.
In this regard, the need to actively implement the results of the state visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian to Tajikistan in early 2025 and the relevant signed documents was emphasized.
Great attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries using existing tools. In particular, views were exchanged on expanding cooperation in connection with the serious and worrying developments in the world today, the intensity of geopolitical competition, and the threats and dangers of modern times.
It was considered necessary to take joint measures to effectively counter the manifestations of terrorism, extremism, radicalization, and transnational organized crime, including cybercrime and drug trafficking.
An exchange of views also took place on other issues of common interest.
