DUSHANBE, 25.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 25, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in the Vanj district of the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province, first put into operation a road from the center of the district to the connection point to the Dushanbe-Kulma highway.

This road that was built within the framework of the implementation of the goals to adapt the service conditions to international requirements, consists of two lanes and is 16 kilometers in total.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that the construction of the road contributes to the formation of transport corridors, sustainable economic development, and further improvement of people’s living conditions.

The construction of transport stops, pedestrian crossings, planting of ornamental and shade trees and greenery has added beauty to the road.

Sections of the road in populated areas are illuminated according to requirements, which at night, in addition to providing light and beauty, also contributes to the comfort and safety of people.

By order of the Head of State, 3 kilometers of internal roads of Vanj district will also be renovated within the framework of this project.

The central road of the district up to the point of connection to the Dushanbe-Kulma highway is of great economic and social importance, and lays the foundation for increasing the volume and quality of freight and passenger transportation. The timely implementation of the instructions of the Head of State made it possible to complete the construction of the road within the specified time frame, in accordance with the project requirements.

After the opening of the road section, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of relevant officials of the sector, workers and specialists to the proper maintenance of the road for many years of service to the people.
