Tajik FM Participates in the 4th India–Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi

DUSHANBE, 09.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The 4th Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the India–Central Asia Dialogue was held on June 6 in New Delhi, bringing together high-level representatives from India and the Central Asian countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin addressed the forum and outlined Tajikistan’s priorities for regional cooperation. He emphasized the importance of enhancing transport connectivity, food and energy security, tourism, education, healthcare, digitalization, culture, industrial development, and human capacity building. The Foreign Minister also called for the effective utilization of existing cooperation mechanisms.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on key regional and international issues. Particular focus was placed on strengthening joint efforts in combating terrorism and extremism, addressing regional security challenges, and expanding cooperation in cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and the development and sustainable use of critical minerals.
Participants reviewed the progress made in multifaceted cooperation between India and Central Asian countries across political, security, economic, trade, and cultural spheres. Special attention was given to enhancing economic and trade partnerships and boosting interbank cooperation.
The strategic importance of the Chabahar Port was highlighted as a gateway for improved access to Indian and regional markets. Delegates also discussed the vital role of the International North–South Transport Corridor in increasing connectivity between India and Central Asia.
The ministers underscored the need to attract investment in key sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and infrastructure. They also stressed the importance of promoting cultural exchanges and humanitarian initiatives to strengthen people-to-people ties.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a Joint Statement, reaffirming the shared commitment to deepen the India–Central Asia partnership in a spirit of mutual respect, development, and regional integration.
