U.S. Independence Day Celebrated in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 10.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – A festive event dedicated to the 249th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America was held today in Dushanbe.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan, the event brought together representatives of government institutions, accredited diplomatic missions, and a broad spectrum of civil society.
The celebration featured remarks emphasizing the importance of U.S.-Tajik cooperation and the progress achieved in diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his address, U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, Manuel Micaller, highlighted the global significance of this historic date, noting that it symbolizes values cherished not only by the American people but by democratic societies around the world.
“On this day, we honor the values of human rights and democracy — values that the United States has championed throughout its history,” said Ambassador Micaller.
The event continued with a vibrant cultural and musical program, historical performances, and artistic presentations reflecting the friendly ties between Tajikistan and the United States. An exhibition was also held, showcasing American national and cultural symbols as well as key historical moments associated with U.S. independence.
Participants also exchanged views on further expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States in areas such as economy, education, development, and civil society.
It was underscored that such events help strengthen bilateral relations and promote mutual understanding and appreciation of each country’s culture and traditions.
