The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honorable Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Central Asia-Russia Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that, thanks to joint efforts and an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, all outstanding issues in bilateral relations had been resolved.

It was deemed necessary to implement previously reached agreements.

Much attention was paid to the effective use of the capabilities of the Interstate Coordination Council and the Intergovernmental Council for the Realization of Trade and Economic Potential.

The need to enhance cultural and humanitarian ties was highlighted.

Close cooperation between the countries within regional and international organizations was noted, as well as support for each other’s initiatives in the international arena.

A fruitful exchange of views also took place on strengthening cooperation on issues of ensuring regional security and responding to security challenges and threats.
