President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon participates in CSTO Collective Security Council session

On November 27, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, participated and spoke at the regular meeting of the Collective Security Council of the  Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Our Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, first of all, expressed gratitude to the leader of the host country for creating favorable conditions for the meeting, and analyzed and discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation within the CSTO.

It was also noted that the CSTO plays an important role in the regional security system, is a guarantor of security and stability, and strengthens the defense capabilities of the countries of the region.

“Tajikistan, which is at the forefront of the southern direction of collective defense, is constantly paying attention to efforts to strengthen stability and ensure security in the Organization’s area of responsibility in Central Asia,” — emphasized the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

The Head of State of Tajikistan, assessing the international situation as “complex and difficult to predict”, supported the joint measures on the agenda of the meeting of the Collective Security Council, including the documents proposed for adoption. In particular, it was stressed that Tajikistan supports the adoption of the Plan for the Development of Military Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2026-2030.

The adoption of the decision on the approval of the Anti-Drug Strategy of the CIS Member States for 2026-2030 was also supported by our Head of State. At the same time, it was considered expedient to find ways of cooperation between the CIS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Anti-Drug Center, which will be established in Dushanbe.

His Excellency Emomali Rahmon also recalled with gratitude the previously adopted Interstate Targeted Program of the CIS to Strengthen the Tajik-Afghan Border, and at the same time expressed hope that its effective implementation would be ensured.

The President of our country highlighted the importance of establishing the CSTO Humanitarian Response Center in Tajikistan and expressed confidence that this issue will be supported by the member states.

President Emomali Rahmon paid great attention to issues related to the threats and dangers of today’s world, such as terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, and transnational organized crime.

In this regard, the Head of our state, recalling the use of cyberspace, including artificial intelligence, by terrorist and extremist structures, stressed the need for rapid exchange of information and management of these threats with new digital technologies.

In conclusion, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, voiced confidence that the decisions adopted at this summit will actively contribute to the strengthening and development of further cooperation between the member states of the organization.

At the end of the meeting, a number of important new documents were signed by the heads of the CSTO member states.
