Tajikistan, China hold first strategic dialog in Dushanbe

On November 22, 2025, the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue at the level of foreign ministers of the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China was held in Dushanbe.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the talks, which took place in a traditional atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the ministers noted the importance of the timely implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of our countries in 2024-2025, as well as the bilateral documents signed following these summit meetings.
The high level of comprehensive strategic interaction between the two countries and significant achievements in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation were stressed.
The sides also focused on further expanding and deepening comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation in all priority areas, in particular trade, economy, investment, industry, energy, transport, agriculture, digital economy and e-commerce, innovative technologies and artificial intelligence, ecology and green economy, security, and others.
During the Strategic Dialogue, they discussed the ways to further develop and expand bilateral cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The meeting also witnessed a detailed exchange of views on topical regional and international issues of mutual interest.
For its part, the Tajik side emphasized that the process of constructive consideration of the issue of signing the «Convention on the Establishment of an International Mediation Organization» by the Republic of Tajikistan is in the progress.
At the conclusion, the foreign ministers signed the Joint Statement of the first session of the Dialogue.
The mechanism for strategic dialogue at the level of foreign ministers was established on the basis of agreements reached by the heads of Tajikistan and China and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries on the establishment of a mechanism for foreign ministers of the two states in June 2025.
