President Emomali Rahmon participates in informal CIS leaders’ meeting

On December 22, an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the Head of the host country, and other heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The leaders of the Commonwealth countries discussed a range of issues of interstate cooperation in the trade and economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Much attention was paid to the issue of increasing the effectiveness of efforts to ensure regional security as a priority area.
Tajikistan’s effective chairmanship in the Commonwealth this year was emphasized.
