Tajikistan and Turkmenistan discuss measures to increase trade turnover

On 21 January, Vafo Niyatbekzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan, met with Nazar Agakhano, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.
According to the Tajik Embassy in Ashqabad, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further development of Tajik–Turkmen relations in the field of trade and economic cooperation. They exchanged views on ways to increase trade turnover and expand working contacts between relevant government bodies and organisations of the two countries.
Noting the growth of mutual trade between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in 2025, the interlocutors emphasized the expediency of establishing direct and permanent contacts between interested entrepreneurs. They also highlighted the importance of concluding relevant agreements aimed at creating favourable conditions for intensifying and diversifying bilateral economic relations.
