The Deputy Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurakhmon Ashuralizoda, held a meeting with Vincent Biggot, Representative of the European Union Headquarters in Brussels, reports Khovar via press-office of the ministry.
The meeting focused on preparations for a draft EU grant budget support programme for Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Tajikistan for the next two years. The parties discussed key priorities and approaches for the upcoming phase of cooperation in this sector.
It was proposed that the new stage of the programme focus on the development of “green” skills and support for the transition to a green economy, as well as digitalisation in vocational education, adult learning, and the labour market. Particular attention was also given to supporting vulnerable groups, including women and persons with disabilities, through training, skills development, and employment promotion.
Vincent Biggot, on behalf of the European Union, expressed readiness to continue close cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, underscoring the importance of achieving sustainable and inclusive development goals.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of ongoing initiatives, including the “Technical Assistance to the Education and Labour Sectors” project and the “Budget Support Programme for 2023–2025.”
