A message from an Iranian scholar expresses sincere respect and deep appreciation to President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan for his contribution to strengthening national identity, promoting cultural values and honoring the historical heritage of the Tajik people.
The letter highlights the special significance of the great Persian poet Abulqosim Firdawsi and his immortal epic, the Shahnameh, describing it as a pillar of Aryan civilization and a spiritual bridge uniting peoples with shared cultural roots.
The author emphasizes President Emomali Rahmon’s initiative to make the “Shahnameh” accessible to every family in Tajikistan, calling it a strategic undertaking of cultural and national importance.
Dr. Muhammadjafar Yohaki, director of the Firdawsi Center and permanent member of the Institute of Persian Language and Literature of Iran, noted that the “Shahnameh” embodies enduring spiritual and moral values of universal significance.
According to Yohaki, the epic reflects the ancient history, traditions and customs of the Aryan peoples living in Iran, the Caucasus, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, serving as a mirror of their shared heritage.
The message also notes that Tajikistan, which has marked more than three decades of independence and is preparing to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its statehood, has strengthened its national consciousness under Emomali Rahmon’s leadership.
The distribution of the “Shahnameh” to households across the country is described as evidence of the president’s respect for the legacy of the nation’s ancestors and as an initiative that allows the Tajik people to engage deeply with a work of universal importance.
