Tajikistan and IOM Discuss Migration Cooperation

On 20 February 2026, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Sharaf Sheralizoda, met with Director General of the International Organization for Migration, Amy Pope.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting, the parties discussed current and future cooperation between Tajikistan and the IOM in the areas of labor migration, as well as internal and external migration in the context of environmental degradation and climate change.
Sheralizoda also extended an invitation to Mrs. Pope to participate in the 4th High-Level International Conference on the Implementation of the International Decade for Action, «Water for Sustainable Development,» 2018–2028, scheduled to take place in Dushanbe from 25 to 28 May 2026.
