The meeting took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where the two sides held discussions on key issues of interstate and interparliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. They exchanged views on expanding collaboration in legislative development, parliamentary practices, and socio-economic progress, as well as improving living standards in the regions.

Participants noted that the forum serves as an important international platform for strengthening interparliamentary dialogue, enhancing political trust and establishing sustainable mechanisms of cooperation between Central Asian countries and the European Union. Tajikistan reaffirmed its support for the continued institutional development of this format.

Muini highlighted that regular high-level meetings between President Emomali Rahmon and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with active engagement in international and regional platforms, have provided a strong foundation for advancing bilateral cooperation. She said Tajik-Uzbek relations have reached a new qualitative stage of development.

It was also noted that the legal framework between the two countries now includes more than 250 agreements covering political, economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation. The Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Treaty on Allied Relations were described as key instruments that have given a long-term and systematic character to bilateral ties.
