Tajikistan’s ambassador to Spain Sharaf Sheralizoda met with representatives of Spanish institutions during a visit to Barcelona from April 27 to 30, Khovar reported, citing the embassy.

During meetings with the Association of International Industrial Enterprises of Spain (AMEC), Sheralizoda outlined Tajikistan’s key industrial sectors and emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In talks with the leadership of Roca Group, the sides discussed Tajikistan’s investment climate and industrial market and agreed to pursue cooperation.

Sheralizoda also met with Patricia Jimenez of the Spanish State Agency for Export and Investment (ICEX), where the parties discussed expanding cooperation and establishing regular contacts between relevant institutions in trade, export and investment, as well as organizing joint events.

On April 30, Sheralizoda met with José Pintor Aguilar, director general of Casa Asia. The sides expressed interest in developing cooperation, including a possible visit by the center’s leadership to Tajikistan, and discussed joint initiatives in the economic, educational and cultural fields.

Casa Asia is a key platform for engagement with Asian countries and has supported diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between Spain and Central Asia since 2001.
