On June 22, Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Sharaf Sheralizoda, participated in a meeting of ambassadors from the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC).

During the meeting, Sheralizoda highlighted the importance of trade policy, transit systems, infrastructure development, regional connectivity, and the implementation of the Avaza Action Plan.

According to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Switzerland, the country was elected coordinator of the LLDC group for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2026. The group consists of 32 countries.

Officials say the role will help strengthen Tajikistan’s international profile, promote national interests, expand transport and transit capacity, and enhance regional and global cooperation.
