DUSHANBE, 17.07.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The third Toji Somon National Film Festival will be held in Dushanbe from 15 to 20 October 2026, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence and Tajik Cinema Day on 16 October.

Organized under the theme “Celebrating True Art”, the festival aims to promote Tajik national culture and cinema, highlight achievements of the independence period, strengthen international cooperation in filmmaking and support emerging young filmmakers.

According to the state institution “Tojikfilm,” the event will also contribute to promoting Dushanbe as a cultural center and a platform for international dialogue within the framework of the initiative “Dushanbe – City of Peace and Civilization.”

The festival will feature works showcasing Tajik cultural heritage, national values and the country’s tourism potential through cinema.

Applications for participation opened on 15 June and will remain open until 15 September.

The festival is being organized within the framework of the Cinema Development Programme of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023–2027, aimed at supporting national filmmaking, encouraging young creators and strengthening creative cooperation in the film industry.
