DUSHANBE, July 24, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorable Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the beginning of the conversation, our Head of State sincerely congratulated the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on his birthday, wishing him good health and new achievements in state activities.
In this context, the steady steps taken by brotherly Uzbekistan on the path of development and progress and the continuous strengthening of its international reputation were highlighted.
The sides also discussed individual aspects of the current state of strategic partnership and alliance between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The Leader of the Nation recalled Tajikistan’s firm determination to further expand bilateral relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan in the spirit of traditions of friendship and good neighborliness.
The Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reviewed the schedule of upcoming meetings and contacts on the sidelines of international and regional events.
Views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
