Tajikistan, Uzbekistan Underscore Shared Commitment to Friendship and Strategic Partnership

An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent, NIAT Khovar reported, citing the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan.
Mahmadshoh Gulzoda, chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi namoyandagon on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information, participated in and addressed the conference.
It was noted that, following a sustainable path of state development, economic and social progress and strengthening its international standing, Uzbekistan is pursuing a constructive policy aimed at strengthening good-neighborly relations, mutual trust and constructive cooperation among the countries of the region.
The conference emphasized that relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are rooted in deep historical, cultural and spiritual ties, longstanding traditions of good-neighborliness and mutual respect. The political will of the two countries’ leaders has further strengthened these relations, fostering friendship, trust and constructive cooperation. In particular, the policies pursued by the presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have created favorable conditions for elevating bilateral relations to a new level of strategic partnership.
Particular attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy. Interparliamentary relations were described as an important instrument for strengthening mutual trust, maintaining dialogue, exchanging experience and reinforcing the legal framework for long-term cooperation.
