Next meeting of the Coordination Council on Tuberculosis (TB) kicks off in Dushanbe
Dushanbe, 17.08.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The next meeting of the Coordination Council on Tuberculosis (TB) that is being held at the initiative the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan kicked off today in Dushanbe. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to a source, the Coordination Council on TB will discuss the results of monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the National Strategic Plan on Protection of the Population from TB in country’s districts and towns in 2016. Representatives of the ministries and departments, including TB specialists from districts and regions throughout the country will participate in the meeting.
The event is supported by the USAID TB Control Program, which aims to reduce the burden of TB and the development of multi-drug resistant TB in Tajikistan. The five-year program with an anticipated budget of $13.2 million focuses on enhancing national policy development, improving access to diagnosis and treatment for vulnerable groups, supporting a patient-centered system of care, and strengthening laboratories in Sughd, Khatlon, and the Rasht Valley.
