Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan, Turkey sign cooperation program for 2017-2020
Dushanbe, 21.10.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met in Dushanbe on Friday to discuss the current state of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries and the prospects for their further development in the context of agreements earlier reached at the highest level.
«The sides underscored the need to intensify interdepartmental contacts and the work of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic issues with the aim of broadening mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, transport infrastructure, energy, culture and education,» the Foreign Ministry said.
«The ministers were unanimous in their opinion about the need to bolster bilateral mechanisms of anti-terrorism cooperation, the fight against radicalism and cross-border organized crime, as well as legal assistance in criminal matters,» it said.
Upon completion of their talks, Aslov and Cavusoglu signed a program for cooperation between the Tajik and Turkish Foreign Ministries for 2017-2020.
