UN Resolution on the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations” Presented in Moscow

DUSHANBE, July 23, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 22, Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda presented the United Nations General Assembly resolution titled “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036)” at the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow, reports the Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia.
It was noted that the resolution was adopted by the UN General Assembly on June 25, 2026, following an initiative put forward by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.
The presentation took place on the sidelines of a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council, attended by representatives of CIS member states, Deputy Secretaries General of the CIS, and heads of relevant sectoral bodies.
During the presentation, Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda briefed participants on the key objectives and provisions of the resolution, as well as prospects for multilateral cooperation within the framework of the International Decade.
It was emphasized that the international document is aimed at strengthening peace and security, preventing conflicts, promoting dialogue, and drawing the attention of the global community to issues of sustainable development.
