The session of the Working group on the announcement of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development” held in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 26.12.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On December 24, in the presence of Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Issues of Social Development and Public Relations, Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, state organizations and institutions took place the session of the Working group regarding the adoption of UN General Assembly’s Resolution on the announcement of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028.
During the session the implementation of the new Decade goal that was proposed by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, has been analyzed and considered.
It was particularly noted that all embassies and diplomatic corps have to hold round tables on this theme, and to publish their results in the media of the accredited countries in different languages.
It was also stated that the relevant ministries and departments, including Ministries of Education and Science, Culture, Health and Social Protection, Academy of Sciences, Centre for Strategic Studies, Centre for Islamic Studies, Committee on Religious Affairs, Regulation of National Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies, as well as higher education institutions have to undertake measures to comprehensive agitation of this issue.
At the same time, the state media, including television channels were charged to create new rubrics on this theme with the involvement of experienced specialists and regularly to reflect new Decade goals by relevant programs, articles and interviews.
The Union of Writers, Composers and Artists were recommended to agitate issues related to water in their poems, stories, music and interesting pictures, as well as to represent Tajikistan’s initiatives in the international arena.
