“THE PRESIDENT OF TAJIKISTAN IS A FAMOUS PERSON IN THE REGIONAL AND WORLD LEVEL”. President of the Asian Development Bank Takehiko Nakao visited Sarez Lake and Norak hydropower station
DUSHANBE, 27.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. As we reported earlier, the President of the Asian Development Bank /ADB/ Takehiko Nakao had arrived in Tajikistan on a working visit on October 25th. During this visit, he visited Sarez Lake and Norak hydropower station /HPS/.
The President of the Asian Development Bank Takehiko Nakao highly evaluated the great potential of Tajikistan’s water resources and assessed the beautiful and unique nature of our country as an undiscovered paradise on earth.
As Mr. Takehiko Nakao expressed, “The Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon is leading in solving the water-related problems in the world and the President of Tajikistan with his humanitarian efforts and initiatives on water and other global actual issues is a famous person in the regional and world level.”
During the visit to Sarez Lake and Norak HPS the President of the Asian Development Bank Takehiko Nakao, who had arrived in Tajikistan on purpose for attending at implementation projects and 16th Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Ministerial Conference, mentioned that the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the richest countries in Central Asian in the field of water resources. Sarez Lake, which is one of the biggest sources of fresh water in the world, with its unique and invaluable nature attracted the attention of the world’s experts. During the visit to Norak HPS Takehiko Nakao said that the rich water and hydroelectric resources of Tajikistan, which are one of the biggest one in the world, can be a major source of socio-economic benefits for all region’s countries in case of effective use. Annually, 64 billion cubic meters of water is being formed in Tajikistan, which is about 60 percent of the water of the region’s rivers.
President of the Asian Development Bank Takehiko Nakao highly evaluated the global initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and assessed the next initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on proclaiming “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028” as an important and humanitarian.
