Tajikistan and Canada Foreign Ministers discussed enhancing mutual beneficial cooperation in Vienna
DUSHANBE, 08.12.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the framework of the 24th Session of OSCE Foreign Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov met with the Foreign Minister of Canada Mrs. Chrystia Freeland.
According to the MFA Information Department, during the meeting the parties exchanged views on current state and further enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Canada.
It was noted, that fruitful cooperation between Tajikistan and Canada was promoted through Canada International Development Agency (CIDA), focused on agriculture, health and education. On this basis, the parties expressed hope, that bilateral relations would be strengthened in other important areas, such as water and energy issues, climate change, strengthening of the state border, fight against terrorism, extremism and trafficking in drugs.
Also, the parties shared views on the development of cooperation within international and regional organisations and international events, scheduled in 2018, in Tajikistan.
